1. Win the 16 – Sleeping is good for all of us, no matter the age. To optimize our day sleep should be a priority. Life can get in the way at times. It’s imperative, we have the discipline to ensure quality sleep on a nightly basis. If we sleep eight hours a day this allows us sixteen waking hours to be our best selves.
2. Mindset – Waking up with a growth or learner mindset allows us to attack each day with the thought of getting better. The more we learn, the more we grow. Our desire should be the expert of today, and tomorrow, which takes a learner mindset.
3. Positivity – We have agency. It’s imperative, we embrace each day believing “good” things will happen. Our optimism can help us achieve tough goals. It can support us when obstacles occur because we know they will.
4. Early Success in your Day – Win the day by 10am. This might not be realistic. The point is “win” early in the day. Spend time first thing on investing in yourself, and working on items that are priorities and goals. Too many times, people spend the entire morning, and day on other people’s agenda. To optimize your day, you need to be working on your priorities and goals. Doing it first-thing, can really help plus early success will help your mindset and can lead to more success during your day.
5. Goals – Simple, and so effective if we commit each day working on our goals. The key is actually doing it. Schedule time in your calendar to work on your goals. No excuses! If you do the results will come.
6. Motivation – Critical to know our authentic motivators. They have to be our motivators not what we believe others think they should be. Motivation is so helpful in our achieving our goals.
7. Habits – Goals are wonderful, and motivation is incredible. Unfortunately, we aren’t always motivated. This is why habits are important. To optimize our day, we need the habits in place to achieve our goals because we are not always motivated. Habits will ensure, we act properly to meet our objectives for that day.
8. Inspiration – Deep thought, to genuinely understand what inspires us can benefit our daily success. We need to ask ourselves, what inspires us? What makes us want to get up early? If we know what inspires us, it can really help us with our daily success. If we aren’t acting the way we should maybe it’s because we aren’t inspired by something. Understanding this can only support our life.
9. Discipline – If we aren’t motivated every day, habits will help us. Discipline will ensure we create habits, and act upon them. Life can be tough. Discipline, and doing the “hard” stuff is inevitable. We need to commit to living a disciplined life. We can work on discipline by doing things that are challenging. It will help us with this skill.
10. Change Agility – The world is evolving quickly. To ensure, we are successful today, and tomorrow it’s imperative we are willing to change. For some change can be tough. This is why knowing yourself is important. You might need a coach, accountability friend, or someone in your life to support you with change. All of us need to adopt a changing mindset because the world is ever evolving.
11. Mental Toughness – Life isn’t easy. Handling tough situations as well as being able to do hard things, or when we aren’t in the right mindset can take mental toughness to get us through those moments. Positive self-talk, deep breaths to relax us during stress, and visually thinking about the end when the challenging moment is over can all support mental toughness. Remember, it’s a skill. You can improve mental toughness.
12. Coaching – Self coaching is a helpful component to optimizing your day. We need to be able to identify how productive or not we are each day, which means self-analysis. Also, hiring a coach to support us is wonderful to help us on our journey to be our best selves.
13. Accountability – A coach can absolutely be a wonderful partner, and accountability partner. Also, you can get a co-worker or friend to be an accountability “buddy”. The key is whomever it is, they have to be honest and tell you when you are wrong. Remember, accountability is powerful. It can be a gift.
14. Set the Bar – If we set a bar of excellence in our daily lives that we will aim to achieve daily this will propel us to being our best selves. Stand for nothing less, and we can achieve and exceed our goals. Key is to never settle or lower the bar.
15. Happiness – When people are happy, they are usually more patient, open to ideas, more resilient and productive. A culture of happiness at home and work can support winning your day.
16. Healthy Lifestyle – The world is tough, and complex. Sleep, quality nutrition, and some form of exercise will assist people to feeling better, more energy, and cognitively superior than when they are not rested and feeling good. Just walking can help us physically and mentally.
